Terry Sammons serves as Chairman of the board of directors. He is a 1997 graduate of Harvard Law School where he obtained a Doctorate of Jurisprudence, and in 1994, he obtained a Masters in Environmental Science from the West Virginia Graduate College. Currently, he is practicing environmental law with Sammons Law Office in Gilbert, West Virginia. Mr. Sammons is a member of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and a member of the West Virginia Flood Disaster Recovery Board. Mr. Sammons has served as an MCRA board member since 2003.

Andy Dillon serves as the board’s Vice Chairman. He is a graduate of Bluefield State College where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He has been employed as a Land Agent for Pocahontas Land Corporation for the past 20 years. Mr. Dillon also serves as Vice Chairman for the Hatfield-McCoy Regional Recreational Trails Authority board of directors; Vice Chairman for the Mingo County Housing Authority board of directors; Chairman of the STOP (Strong Through Our Plan) organization; he is a member of the Larry Joe Harless Community Center board of directors; and he is a member of the Gilbert Presbyterian Church. Mr. Dillon has served as an MCRA board member since 2001.

Mr. James Simpkins serves as the board’s Secretary/Treasurer. A self-employed local businessman, he is the present and former owner of several companies and businesses such as Simpkins Lumber Company, Simpkins Mine Supply Company, Crown Industries, Tolsia Wood Products, Quality Equipment Company, Summit Enterprises and the Sports & Fitness Center. Mr. Simpkins is the only original board member who remains on the board of directors today.

Mr. Steve Kominar serves as a member of the board of directors. He is a graduate of Ohio State University and the University of Maryland where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He is member of the West Virginia Legislature’s House of Delegates where chairs the Committee on Banking and Finance. He is a past member of the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He also serves on the Board of Advisors at Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College and on the Advisory Council for the Mingo County Adult Education Association. Mr. Kominar has served as an MCRA board member since 2002.

Mr. Paul Pinson serves as a member of the board of directors. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a law degree. He has a private law practice in Williamson. He served in the United States Army. He serves as the Moderator of the Williamson Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees; he is an Advisory Board Member of the Community Trust Bank of Williamson; he is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Williamson; he is a President of the Tug Valley Arts Council. Mr. Pinson has been an MCRA board member since 2000.
