Coal House
Built in 1933 out of 65 tons of locally mined coal, Williamson’s Coal House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in downtown Williamson on 2nd Avenue between the Mingo County Courthouse and the Mountaineer Hotel, the Coal House is accessed from Corridor G by taking a left across the Harvey Street Bridge, then a right to Second Avenue. Twisted Gun Golf Course
An 18 hole public course, Twisted Gun is a PGA-type golf course located atop Horsepen Mountain on Mingo County’s breathtaking ridge tops in Wharncliff, West Virginia, approximately 90 minutes from Charleston. The course is generally open and treeless with wide, rolling fairways oriented to take advantage of the prevailing winds. The large, undulating greens are challenging, but fair. There are two lakes coming into play on four holes. Twisted Gun plays from 5,155 to 7,015 yards, and there are four sets of tees per hole to accommodate all skill levels. Twisted Gun offers a driving range, a practice range, cart and club rentals, golf lessons and a state-of-the art clubhouse. Laurel Lake Park

Matewan Historic District
Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1997 for its contribution to American labor history, the Matewan Historic District in downtown Matewan is accessed from Corridor G by Route 65 South. Attractions include an audio presentation at the Matewan Massacre Site and Historic Buildings restored to their 1920 appearance. Walking tour brochures are available at the visitor’s center. Matewan Floodwall
The “Great Wall” of Matewan and its adjacent walking path on the river side of the wall is open year round to visitors to the Matewan Historic District. Offering beautiful views of the Tug River, the walking path allows visitors to study the historic graphics embedded in the floodwall. A brochure available at the Matewan Visitors Center interprets the graphics for visitors. Moonshine Hill Climb
Nestled in the mountains of Delbarton, West Virginia, Moonshine Hill has inclines as steep as seventy degrees and is over 500 feet from start to finish. National climbing events which are sanctioned by the American Motorcycle Association are held at Moonshine Hill each year. Matewan Visitors Center
Housed in the Sailor McCoy building in the Matewan Historic District, the Matewan Visitors Center offers artifacts and photographic displays of the area’s rich history. Permanent exhibit themes include the Hatfield-McCoy Feud, the 1920 Mine War Battle “Matewan Massacre,” and early coal mining history. Take Route 65 South from Corridor G. R.D. Bailey Lake and Dam
See a breathtaking view of R.D. Bailey Lake & Dam and surrounding forest from the visitors center at the lake. The lake is open all year for boating; facilities include a marina and fishing pier, picnic tables and grills, a shelter, playground, and camping with electrical hook-ups.
